Poppy & Tom's Wedding

A taster of photos from the wedding on Poppy & Tom! An English garden wedding which oozed shabby chic style in every way!

I must say that The Rectory Hotel is one of my favourite wedding venues to shoot, having been to the hotel on breaks before I have come to know the grounds very well and really enjoy shooting in them at all times of the year.

The weekend was Glastonbury weekend and clouds loomed, we were all concerned the muddy wet weather associated with the nearby concert may play havoc with the wedding plans but the rain luckily managed to stay away for the couple!

The couple were married in the nearby medievil catholic church, St Mary's in Cricklade, complete with a choir who sang 'How sweet is that love' as they left the church, to which many of the congregation joined in with. The wedding was then followed by a reception back at The Rectory Hotel in Crudwell, Cotswolds.

The colour scheme of turquoise, fushia pink and green ran throughout the event from the flowers, to the bridesmaid dresses, the name cards and the sambuca favours left at everyone's table place!

The wedding had a few surprises throughout the night making it unique to this couple including a cake topped with shamrocks for Tom's Irish side of the wedding party and Poppy's to represent the brides name.

This was then followed by a gift from the bride to the groom of Irish dancers performing to us all. The evening entertainment was then a DJ accompanied by Saxysymbol, the very talented saxophonist from The Netherlands, whose excellent playing ensured everyone was up and dancing the night away...

My favourite part of wedding photography is getting to see the contrast of both sides getting ready! Here is a selection of photos of the Bride and Groom getting ready, their last moments as singletons...
